Remastered: Improvement or Hype? I heard a clip from this Rock Band Game on the news a short while back. Even on my shitty TV speakers I could hear where they sucked out all the ambience of the Beatles recordings. Is it me or does the remaster sound thin?

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend and musician who appeared in a movie back in the day. He got a copy of the film, after many years, but the VHS dub is very dark.

What he needs to know is the best way to get it lightened -- computer program? Professional lab? What are some of the tricks of the trade that might help him out?

It was a week ago my wife of 35 years (Candy) developed a bad cold/cough within 24 hours her fever was 104.7. By Thursday it had become pneumonia in both lungs. The CDC confirmed it is the H1N1 flu.
She is in the ICU at Doctors Hospital sedated and with a breathing machine breathing for her. They are doing this so her body can rest while the massive doses of antibiotics beat back the infection. NINE people mostly younger than 40 are in the Doctors ICU with the similar cases.

My, my, it's certainly been quiet in here lately. Where'd everybody go? I know that facebook has a lot of our people on it but it doesn't offer the same forum as the lounge does. There are no archives to explore and no threads to follow, just a bunch of random comments that disappear in a few days. IMHO this is a far superior forum to facebook, myspace or twitter.

Just wanted to let you guys know that amazon regularly has a selection of MP3's that you can download for free. You have to install a small amazon music downloader program, but then when they download they will be imported directly into itunes (or wherever you specify) Right now there's a lot of free songs up...very eclectic, so not sure what all is there, but check it out and if you don't find anything, check back later. Seems like they add new stuff weekly.
