Barry Beckett, musician and producer died June 10th, '09 in his home in Hendersonville, Tenn. Earlier in his career he was a member of the infamous
"Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section" (Known as "The Swampers") that backed up just about every major singer in the business. He had played on
sessions and produced artists Bob Dylan,Willie Nelson,Aretha Franklin, Bob Seger, Elton John, Sting, Kenney Chesney, and many more artists that not only gained
greatly from his talent, but also from his personality. I worked with him when I was in the group Cameron. I learned so much from him that it is impossible to
even know to this day how much his influence changed me and my playing. He produced us and played on some of our songs, and his keyboard technique and ideas
were inspiring to say the least. He was also a great guy and very open to pass his experience and knowledge along to anyone. I loved to hear him talk about the
stories of the behind the scenes things that happened in sessions with some of the major people he had worked with. He was an extremely interesting man with
unbelievable talent and was a very nice man also. I will miss him very much, and will be indebted to him forever.
