It saddens me to report the passing of my childhood friend and local Miami musician, Austin Huhn III. Austin & I formed our first band, The Deltona's,
along with guitarist/vocalist Craig Caragilor, back in 1960. I have many fond memories of the three of us cramming our amps, drums, and guitars into my English
Ford Angelia and heading off for a gig. Austin was a kind and caring friend to everyone he knew. Those of us who had the good fortune of knowing him have
surely gained from his friendship. Austin is survived by Jean Huhn, his wife of many years, and sons Austin and Stanley.
Rest in peace my friend. You will always be in the heart of those of us who were blessed with your friendship. Respectfully, Dewey Bond |

Dewey, So sorry to hear of your friend's passing. Although I did not know him, I can relate, having lost four bandmates myself. Condolensces to his family
and all his friends.

Austin was as Dewey described him...just a mild kind of person. He was a part of our S.W. Miami group of wanna be musicians that were finding each other
during the early '60's. The playing field was level as was our musical abilities....but we didn't know any better. It's difficult to make these
types of posts because most of our minds eye memories are are of a young teenage person who now has passed. Gosh those 50 years went quickly!

I met, and interviewed Austin in the mid 80s. He had a great collection of photographs of artists and clubs from the era. I remember his young son had
started playing music, and the two of them would play together. Austin was with the Intruders (the Southwest High version) when they went to Wisconsin and
became the Hares. Of course Chuck Guy of the Intruders/Hares also passed away recently. RIP Austin.
