Here, finally, are step-by-step instructions on how to post pictures here at the Limestone Lounge. First things first, though.
This forum is hosted by EZBoard. While they offer a lot of conveniences, picture hosting isn't one of them. What this means is your picture must first be hosted on a web page before you can post it. If it's only on your hard drive, and not saved anywhere, it won't show up.
There are places all around the web where you can get free web hosting for pictures. MSN is just one. I'm sure some of our members can suggest others. I strongly suggest that photos be no longer than 550 pixels in width. Anything larger will result in text being spread out across the screen, and no one likes dealing with scrunched-out text!
With that out of the way, you're ready to post.
(1) Hit the REPLY or NEW TOPIC key. It will bring up a message box for you to type in. Check out the buttons on the left side of the box. Find the one that says IMAGE. If you do not see these boxes, change the formatting from Plain Text to HTML. This can be easily done by marking the HTML bubble found just underneath the SUBJECT line, and just above the message box.
(2) Click IMAGE, to the left of the message box. Type the web address (starting with http), without any spaces. Click IMAGE again.
That's all there is to it! If the picture doesn't show up (the dreaded red X), double check the web address... and make sure there aren't any spaces between the word "image" and the address. If I can do it, anyone can do it!
