Dennis Downey, Rhythm Guitar. Bill Berthold, Drums and Gary Hardy, Bass. "The Pebbles" were Ralph Straight, Dennis Downey, Ray Griffin, Bass and Bill Berthold along with Joe Commuccio. . Recorded one 45 on the RPH Label (Ronald Paul Hitchock) Side A - "Endless Tears". Side B - "Vicki". Recording was done in a home studio somewhere in Tampa near Ybor City. Venues included.....Gulfport Casino, Sarasota Armory, St. Pete Armory, Surfer's Club (Madeira Beach), Ft. Meyers Armory, Martinique Club (Daytona Beach) and many others who's names I just can't remember.We were usually booked opposite the Impacs (the headliners) at most venues These bands were active from 1963 to 1965. "The Pebbles" was the same band as "The Satins" with the exception of the Bass player. RAY GRIFFIN was the bass player on the record. Thanks for sharing the "press release" I'm still offended about the remark comparing it to athletes foot. LOL. Ralph

Posts: 14 Jul 23 07 12:05 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Jeff, Guy Lombardo was a big band leader in the 50s and 60s. His winter headquarters was at the resort down on Tierra Verde. At the time it was called "Port-o-Call"\ Guys big thing there was a New Years Eve bash. I don't know if he actually owned the place or they just used his name. We did a demo tape there for Decca records.

However I do remember doing some scenes at the Martinique Club. I vaguely remember the title "Daytona Beach Weekend" release date of 1965. Time has a way of clouding the memory. I went into the Army in November of 1965 so this movie thing had to occur prior to that. Maybe the film company did the field work in 1965-1966 and released the film in 1967.

Was in a comedy show there while at Stetson Law in Gulfport, and a classmate's brother owned a bar on the corner right across the street from the Casino.. Drove by there a few months ago for the first time in over 20 years. The whole beach area around there has been fixed up a bit but fortunately not too yuppified. It was deteriorating a bit when I was there in the early-mid 80's. Glad to see it making a comeback. A fun place to spend an evening.

Worked a lot of venues with "The Impacs" they were good friends and fine musicians. They were the headliners. Ralph
